School Uniform

At Eastwood Village Primary School, we encourage our children to take pride in everything they do, including their appearance, which is why we have a school uniform.

We ask parents and carers to support us in implementing our dress code and ensuring that children attend school dressed appropriately each day.

Our school uniform consists of:

• A dark blue jumper or sweatshirt
• A white polo shirt
• Black trousers, skirt or pinafore dress
• In the summer months, boys may wear black shorts and girls may wear a blue checked or striped summer dress

All of these items can be purchased from most supermarkets and do not require a school logo.

For safety reasons, children should wear sensible footwear. Flip-flops, open-toed sandals and high-heeled shoes or boots are not suitable for school. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including coats, shoes and PE kit, are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Branded Uniform Items

For families who wish to purchase uniform with the school logo, items such as sweatshirts, polo shirts and fleeces are available through school and local suppliers, including Jonny D’s. You do not have to purchase a branded uniform.

We also maintain a supply of good-quality pre-loved uniform, which is available through the school office. This supports both affordability and sustainability, whilst ensuring all children have access to suitable school uniform.

PE Kit

For PE lessons and sporting activities, children should wear:

• A plain white t-shirt
• Black shorts
• Suitable pumps or trainers for outdoor activities
• A bobble or hair tie for children with long hair

Children take part in indoor PE activities in bare feet, where appropriate.

Swimming

On swimming days, children will need:

• A swimming costume or swimming trunks
• A towel
• A swimming hat

All long hair must be fully secured within a swimming hat.

Jewellery

To promote safety and security, we ask that jewellery is not worn or brought into school.

Where children have pierced ears, they may wear one pair of small stud earrings.

Children may also wear a wristwatch; however, the school cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage.

All jewellery, including stud earrings, must be removed before PE, swimming and any other sports or physical activities.
